Safety Policy

Steelbiz Pty Ltd is committed to providing a safe work environment for our employees, contractors, clients and the public on every project we deliver.

Our commitment

Steelbiz operates in compliance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and the WHS Regulations 2017. Safe work is a non-negotiable condition of every job we accept and every site we attend.

How we manage safety

  • A full-time Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) officer is on staff to oversee day-to-day safety on workshop and site work.
  • A quality safety management system underpins our planning, delivery and reporting on every job.
  • Comprehensive risk assessments are completed for each project before mobilisation.
  • Pre-start toolbox meetings are held with the crew on site to brief hazards, controls and the day's plan.
  • Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) are prepared and signed off for high-risk activities.
  • We engage actively with our clients' and subcontractors' safety protocols on every site.

Responsibilities

Every Steelbiz employee, contractor and subcontractor is responsible for following safe work procedures, reporting hazards, and stopping any work they consider unsafe. Leadership backs the right and the duty to stop unsafe work without fear of consequence.

Continuous improvement

Our safety system is reviewed and improved on the back of incident reports, near-miss investigations, audits, and client and worker feedback. The goal is the same on every job: everyone goes home.
